014: sledding

[It's not hard to tell that things have gotten tense in the Midwest, starting with protests in Wisconsin, and now coming to protests in Iowa. In lieu of it, Jack has decided to take as much of the edge off as he can, in the form of bundling himself up and toting a sled up the highest hill in town, Mitch loyally at his side and far too excited for his own good.

Yes, the hill is a bit daunting, and he'll probably end up with his fair share of bruises and humiliation by nightfall, but it should be worth it in the end. One he gets to the top, he poses momentarily like a king about to take on an opposing kingdom. He is Macduff, ready to teach Macbeth a lesson. He is William Wallace sans face paint and kilt, replaced with a beanie and jeans. He is Napoleon, Alexander, and Caesar all in one tall, skinny, farm boy form. He has his mighty companion barking and rolling in the snow at his side. This hill is his battlefield, his Tannenburg and Hastings and Antietam all in one.

As he finally sits on his sled and pushes, he flies down the hill with a mighty screech of questionable masculinity battle cry, his dog running after him and barking happily.

[ Mitch, sometimes you half make him want to have a dog of his own at times. Silly thing, he thinks to himself while he looks back at Jack. ]

Ah... Ya really think so? I do hope the momentum will be kept up, ya know?

I do think so. I mean, it seems you guys got it pretty well-covered by now. Kinda seems familiar, huh? []

[ Animal rituals when it comes to rolling in the snow, leaves, grass is always interesting to watch so he keeps his eyes over there at first before he looks back at Jack. ]

I think we do too, I mean I don't think my ... [ Dictator. Emperor. King. ] Governor will change his opinion, but I think his senate colleagues might. [ A small laugh. ] The longer that the other side can be heard, the more other people can get the message ya know?

[ A pause for a moment. ] ... Well I wouldn't say that. If it continues, maybe.

He's only one guy. One guy can suddenly be really small compared to a couple thousand people, y'know?

[ Gabe is relatively crazy about animals in that sense, part of him just wants to take that sled and go down that hill himself. But that might be the beer he was drinking talking and not anything else. ]

Yeah... I guess you're right. Only one guy, but he's also one guy with a majority in the house and the senate. Who knows though? If it does pass, chances are -- he already lost. The longer this goes on, the more it will be revealed what he is, ya know?

[ Kicking his feet in the snow, with a smile on his face. Strange how he seems chipper and not so heavy for once. ] Who knows? Maybe they did a revolution and didn't know it?
