Finding himself bored again, Jack has done yet another meme to pass the time seeing as how all the work outside is done and it's just going to be a blazing inferno outside today. She sniffs at him before crawling (ungracefully) onto his shoulder and perching there happily.

"Aw, Will, ya got a scarf now!"

An' a fine one too. He scratches at the underside of her mouth now.

She looks perfectly content and slumps over. Jack laughs and shakes his head.

"I'm gonna have to be careful or else she's gonna follow you around instead of me."

Naw. Ah'm sure she likes ya too much fer tha'. Despite that, he keeps scratching at her chin.

"Ah, I just feed her and let her run around. I don't spoil her that much. And she's kinda like a cat. She doesn't care about anyone else unless she likes 'em."

Tha's wha' ah've always kept dogs. Thought about a cat once. Bu' didn' really have time ta care fer it. Tha dogs could always take care a' themselves.

"I got a dog around here..." He looks around. "...somewhere. He's pretty good. I got him for herding a few years ago."

Mine are usually fer huntin'. Got a lab, Star, an' a beagle, Twiggs.

"I just got a German Shepherd named Mitch. He's an okay hunting dog but he's better at herding."

After dealin' with Star ah'm sure ah'll be fine. She don' quite understand tha's she's bigger 'an some people yet.

Jack snorted.
"Same with Mitch. He thinks he's still a puppy or something when he's almost as tall as me when he stands up. And then Maddie doesn't realize she's really small so she'll jump at him. Funny thing is, he's terrified of her."

Now tha's jus' got ta be an amusin' sight. Yer jus' a ferocious lil' beast ain't you? he gives the ferret a good scratch at that.

As though understanding him, she playfully nips at his finger before relaxing again. Jack laughs and shakes his head again.
"Sometimes I think she really does understand what ya say. She's just got selective hearing or something."

"Well, I guess it's kinda like a stereotype. Like, I just hang out on a farm and people kinda get the notion I'm not smart. "

He nods, sighing slightly as he hangs his head.

"You okay? I mean, I don't let it bother me or anything, so it ain't a problem. "

"I don't think that so don't worry 'bout me. As long as I can tell my right from my left and the layout of my house, I'm all set."
